'Forced to leave country': Oman players yet to receive T20 World Cup prize money from cricket board

ICC announced the record-breaking prize money of US$ 11.25 million for the T20 World Cup last year. Oman, one of the participating teams, received US$ 225,000 for finishing the tournament between 13th and 20th position. With a couple of weeks remaining for the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup, a 12-member commentary panel for the tournament was announced on Friday, August 11. The star-studded panel included five Indians, four Pakistanis, and one member each from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and New Zealand. However, the only commentator outside of the teams participating in the tournament, New Zealand's Scott Styris has taken his name back.
